When we received confirmation from Y. E. (name withheld on system, Yuval, do not worry…) to work on the MBK bike found by us, we collected the best parts to match the frame's colors.
The master plan was to incorporate different parts in red and white without using any other color (except for nickel and aluminum). After some more profound and practical thinking, it was decided to toughen up the look and use some black elements as well.
We did the rear wheel’s hub in black, and also the brake cable (that we initially thought leave white). Once you go black, you never go back :). In addition, it was decided on the dotted version of the Concor leather saddle to complement the dots on red & white bar tape.
Existing rust spots on the frame didn't alarm us - on the contrary, we thought the rough look of the classic frame and time marks formed a perfect contrast of new components that we assembled on it.
Besides, rust also comes in shades of red, doesn't it?
